St.Pope John Paul II Plinth

St.JP II Plinth-jpg (1 of 1)

St.Pope John Paul II was made a Freeman of Limerick city in 1979. Now the council are putting up a plinth to commemorate the fact. This is being done on Monday April 30th on Bishop’s Quay (named so as ’twas near the Church of Ireland Bishop’s house) and the Papal Nuncio Jude Thaddeus Okolo will be there with the Mayor and a number of dignitaries. The image above is the plinth under cover until the official opening.

Bishop’s Quay is located outside the back gate of Henry street Garda station.
