In “Gaudete et Exsultate” (“Rejoice and Be Glad”) released by the Vatican April 9, Pope Francis confirms the devil is real. And is a force to be reckoned with – every day.
No idea why he waited so long to do this but there’s this little briar just popped into my thick head – isn’t it possible that Eugenio Scalfari; he of the rumour of Pope Francis saying ‘hell is not’, has access to what Pope Francis is working on any time he chooses to pry? That he has access to what Pope Francis is about to put out there for his flock long before it does get out?
Reading through the Exhortation one can conclude that Scalfari saw it long before any one else so he knew where to stick his nasty little barb. I do believe this is not an unreasonable theory given how it has played out.
I think Pope Francis had better tighten up even tighter than tight on security around such matters. And might also cease and desist calling round to Scarfari’s gaff for tea and buns with a friendly ‘aul chat about old times!
I hope the ‘Underground‘ are paying attention . . .
